We acted for Claimant Miss C to obtain compensation from her landlord Knowsley Housing Trust for the poor state of her property.
The Claimant had been complaining of a leak from the balcony from the flat above, flaking and crumbling plaster in the living room, water damage in the kitchen from a leak, cracks in the bedroom walls and mould and damp within the property.
The Claimant had been complaining of these problems for a couple of years but the Defendants had failed to carry out the repairs. A very frustrating situation for the claimant.
She came to us for help and we instructed a Chartered Surveyor to attend the property to review what works were outstanding. With solicitors now involved, the Defendants were under pressure and subsequently carried out their own inspection.
The Claimant’s claim settled for £3000.00 and she moved out of the property for the repairs to be undertaken.
The Claimant was pleased to have a swift conclusion to the claim and once again a watertight house in a good state of repair.
