Mary contacted Irvings after suffering injuries believed to be caused by a moisturiser cream she had purchased. The result after use wasn’t healthy skin; it was burns and inflammation. Fortunately these burns did not leave long-term scars but did take time and care to heal.
We took in Mary’s claim and contacted the store who sold the cream, who didn’t admit liability. It was insinuated our client had contaminated the cream deliberately; which we felt was unlikely. We had the product and sent it off to a jointly agreed lab to get tested. The results were that the cream had unsafe levels of chemicals and ingredients in it; the cause of Mary’s injuries. The store admitted liability soon after, and we were able to get a settlement for Mary’s pain and suffering.
