Ms H contacted us regarding multiple issues within her property, which is owned by Sutton Borough Council. As a result of the various issues Ms H suffered from distress, embarrassment, and could not enjoy her property.
On behalf of Ms H, we instructed a surveyor to visit the property. The surveyor found an array of issues in the property such as: plaster cracks in both the walls and ceilings, a leak in the bathroom, a defective drain, and issues with the staircase.
Based upon the surveyors’ findings the total cost to rectify the issues totalled OVER £3,500.
Unfortunately, there was no response from Sutton Borough Council after the surveyor report so preparation to issue proceedings commenced.
In a final effort to resolve the issues we put forward an offer to Sutton Borough Council of £1500.00, plus works to be carried out – which they agreed to.
